Windows Installer or MSI has become the de-facto standard for software deployment. Because
of the increasing use by our customers of MSI to install applications, Scense
decided to improved the support for the management of MSI's.
Reduce need for application packaging
Each organization or department has it's own needs regarding the installation of applications.
With Scense the IT-department or application-manager is able to tune the installation of an MSI to
the needs of the users without the costs of application-packaging. All MSI settings can be managed
from within Scense and will be used during the local installation.
The most common installation-settings are available right away (which parts to install, the installation directory and the need of a reboot or not.
More advanced options regarding the installation are available by clicking on
the Customize Installation button. You will be provided with options to further change
the behavior of the installation and the use of MST-files or patch-files.
And if you know your way around Windows Installer, you will be able to change
all public Properties of the Installer and even add property to further tune
it's behavior to your needs.
