Scense 6.0
Released in February 2009
The main focus of this release is on further simplifying the delivery process. With Scense Easy Delivery, the fast and succesfull delivery of applications to end users will be a mouse click away. Release 6.0 offers full Integration with App-V application virtualization and global management of file type associations for all types of applications, virtualized, streamed or installed. All new features are discussed below with links to the related demo movies
Main New Feature: Scense Easy DeliveryDelivering applications to end users with one mouse click. Scense Easy Delivery will reduce the time needed to deliver App-V, MSI and SVS applications to seconds. Select the package, select the users that are entitled to use the application and your done. See Scense Easy Delivery in action Main New Feature: Full App-V IntegrationWith this release, Scense administrators will be able to manage and deliver App-V applications in the same easy and transparant way they were used to with MSI, SVS, . Exe and other applications. With Scense 6.0, you don't even need additional infrastructure to enjoy the benefits of App-V. See App-V integration in action New configuration package App-V client configurationManage your App-V client centrally by using Dynamic Workspace Configuration. With Scense 6.0, a new configuration settings package is shipped with all settings you need to manage the App-V Client resulting in an optimal end user experience. You will be able to determined exactly which applications are used by every files and document the end user selects and you will manage it centrally. Even with applications that are not yet installed, activated or streamed, you as an administrator are in control and end users will feel secure. See File Type Association Management in action Improvement: New SetupWith Scense 6.0, we ship a new setup that will result in faster implementations of Scense environment. The express setup will result in a Scense installation of minutes. Improved feedback will help the administrator or consultant to take better decisions regarding the installation of the Scense components. See the improved setup in action Main New Feature: ConnectivityWe added functionality that allows the administrator to query on information in external data sources like databases, Active Directory, the Windows registry etc via WMI and OLEB providers. Based on this information, the administator will be able to analyze the users environment indepth and take decisions bases on this information. Improvement: Scense variablesWe added approximately 25 new Scense variables that will help the administrator to analyse the user's environment and take decisions based upon these properties.
